A National Export Strategy (NES) for Jordan (launched in March 2010)
The principal objective of the “Jordan National Export Strategy” project is to build up the capacity of Jordan to formulate, manage and implement a national export development strategy. The Jordanian NES focuses on field-level technical interventions at the national level, on capacity-building, and on the dissemination of best practices.
In the framework of the above-mentioned NES, the following activities have already been undertaken during the course of 2010:
- 50 people participated in the National Export Strategy introduction seminar in March 2010
- In October 2010, 150 people participated in the National Export Strategy launch and stakeholder consultations and a publication was tailored for designing Jordan's export strategy.
Export marketing and Branding for Jordanian enterprises (launched in June 2010)
The Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) engaged the International Trade Centre in

existing capacity building expertise available in Jordan in the field of export
marketing and branding for enterprises.
- A critical review of
existing place or sector or product branding experiences.
- Workshop on place,
sector and product branding.
- Draft strategy and
the proposal of a roll out plan for the place or sector or product.
- A restitution workshop organized to present
and discuss the findings.
