Technical assistance in the United Republic of Tanzania covers all three target sectors of the project, namely the honey, mango and spice sectors.
The activities in this country account for almost half of the project activities. The Small Industries Development Organization (SIDO) and International Trade Centre are partners in implementing the activities, and the Association of Mango Growers (AMAGRO), TanTrade and Tanzania Honey Council also have a vital role in the project.
Project activities aim at improving supply chain management and increasing the quality of products to comply with international standards. Services provided by trade support institutions to small and medium-sized enterprises, e.g. in packaging, are also enhanced. The work is based on actionable sector development road maps during the first year of the project that capture the sectors’ opportunities for engaging in trade and export development.
