Transparency in market access conditions is important for export success of developing countries. To address the needs of exporters, trade support institutions and policy makers, Market Access Map, an interactive analytical web application, provides information on customs tariffs (including tariff preferences) applied by 191 countries and territories. It also covers non-tariff measures, such as SPS, tariff rate quotas, trade remedies, rules and certificates of origin as well as bound tariffs of the WTO members - to help users prioritize and analyze export markets.
Users can simulate tariff reduction scenarios to prepare for trade negotiations and find ad valorem equivalents for all non-ad valorem duties and perform aggregations of products and countries. Improving transparency in the market access conditions that countries face and impose worldwide is important for developing countries’ exporters, trade support institutions (TSIs) and policymakers alike.
