    Consultant for the Midterm Evaluation of the ITC GTEX MENATEX Programme

    The ITC Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) is looking for a qualified consultant or team of consultants to conduct a midterm evaluation of the ITC ‘GTEX MENATEX Programme’ (Strengthening the International Competitiveness of the Textile and Clothing Sector in Selected Middle East and North Africa Countries). The Terms of Reference can be found here.The expected timeframe is from February to July 2022. The objectives of the midterm evaluation are to measure progress against the programme’s theory of change and logical framework targets, and determine the need to readjust them following the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the T&C sector and changes in consumer behaviour (markets). Based on these findings, review suggested revisions to the programme logical framework, particularly the targets, as well as the adjusted thematic focus of an extension phase; assess the relevance of the programme’s objectives and approach pre- and post-COVID-19; coherence (both internal and external); how the project activities have proven to be efficient and effective; the extent to which the project has achieved its planned outcomes to date; and whether the programme’s results will be sustainable; and serve as a basis for improvements by providing strategic and operational recommendations for the programme’s future direction, effectiveness, and the timely accomplishment and sustainability of intended outcomes/results. The scope of the evaluation will cover all programme activities from December 2017 to December 2021. Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of and a strong record in leading or conducting evaluations (including both qualitative and quantitative evaluation methods) of development projects/programmes within the past five years; specific experience in evaluating T&C sector and T&C value chain development is desirable.     Innovation Consultant – Communication and Events

    The International Trade Centre is recruiting an Innovation Consultant to oversee the implementation of the second edition of the Innovation Champions programme and the sixth ceremony of the Innovation Heroes Awards. In addition, the consultant will coordinate the next season of the podcast “Trade Forward” liaising with different teams across Divisions, and manage communication campaigns for the Innovation Lab. The candidate should possess relevant experience in communications and events management, as well as familiarity with innovation methodologies.     Consultancy: Profiling and categorisation of enterprises in the Tanzania honey and bee products value chain

    The Tanzania Beekeeping Value Chain Support Project aims to promote sustainable agriculture by improving the beekeeping value chain through enhanced quality production, value addition of bee products and enhanced trade and access to local, regional and international markets. ITC's project intervention providing technical capacity building assistance measures will be market-demand oriented, ensuring that interventions on themes such as product development, quality improvement, packing (packaging) systems and labelling, market and branding are aligned with international and regional buyer expectations and contributing to ensuring Tanzanian businesses develop a competitive advantage in targeted market segments. ITC is seeking a consultant for the implementation in cooperation with the project technical team, of an identification, profiling and categorisation of enterprises that will potentially be part of the project. The profiling and categorisation of enterprises will serve as a project baseline as well as acting as a determination of the critical issues relating to market access and trade competitiveness of value chain actors, which will then guide the customisation of technical assistance activities of the project. This survey will be done in parallel to and complement a larger Tanzania beekeeping value chain analysis and upgrading strategy recommendations report to be implemented by the project partner, Enabel. The consultant should preferably hold a Masters level studies in business, economics, finance or agri-business management related areas and have at least 7 years’ experience in honey and beekeeping products business preferably including processing and trading related experience, and in beekeeping and honey related development projects particularly related to commercialising and developing honey value chains.     ITC’s 2022 Annual Evaluation Synthesis Report

    The International Trade Centre is recruiting an expert consultant to design and conduct the 2022 Annual Evaluation Synthesis Report (AESR). The AESR development process, including the preparation designing the approach, data analysis and collection, report writing and communication, expected time frame from February to June 2022. The Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) has produced an AESR since 2013. The purpose of these reports is to contribute to improving the performance and results of ITC The AESR provides ITC stakeholders with an analytical synthesis of the key messages emerging from all types of ITC-related evaluations. The 2022 AESR will be analysing the lessons learned from the implementation of the Strategic Plan 2022-25.     Consultant specialized in animation and video editing

    The International Trade Centre is recruiting a consultant specialized in animation and video editing to contribute to the activities of the Alliances for Action programme, in partnership with Caribbean Export. The consultant will be in charge of video animation, to support with dissemination of branding and marketing knowledge. The objective of this assignment is to support agro-processors MSMEs based in Caribbean countries that focus on value added of coconuts products to improve competitiveness through dissemination of knowledge on the branding and marketing, targeting the creation of commercial relationships locally and internationally.     National Consultant – Policy Study on EU GSP+ utilization in The Philippines

    The International Trade Centre (ITC) is looking for a national consultant, based in the Philippines, to support a study being undertaken to strengthen utilization of the GSP+ scheme in the Philippines, under the scope of the ARISE Plus Philippines project. The candidate will be expected to support research undertaken for this study, develop a stakeholder database, disseminate targeted surveys and facilitate focus group discussion, and support the organization of consultations and events related to the study. Please find attached the Terms of Reference for more information on the duties expected of the National Consultant. The candidate must have an advanced university degree in international trade, law, economics, or related field; possess a minimum of 5 years academic or practical research experience on trade and/or economic policy related projects.     Project Assistant for SheTrades in Sierra Leone

    ITC is looking for a SheTrades Project Assistant to assist in the coordination and implementation of activities on the ground for the SheTrades West Africa project, within the Sustainable and Inclusive Value Chain Section, of the Division of Enterprises and Institutions.     National Consultant – Export and Import requirements legislation documents collection

    The Trade and Market Intelligence section (TMI) has developed and is continuously evolving market analysis tools to improve the understanding and the use of the multilateral trading system. TMI works on increasing awareness of firms and institutions in Market Access related data like customs tariffs, taxes, and non-tariff measures. With this aim, ITC is looking for a National Consultant familiar with trade regulations, to collect and process export and import requirement documents in Libya.     Capacity Building Specialist for the development of training materials for workshops on Trade Intelligence

    Business Analyst

    The International Trade Centre is recruiting a consultant specialized in the development of technical content on digital trade intelligence platforms to contribute to the activities of the Competitive Intelligence (CI) team. The consultant will contribute to the conceptualization and visual representation of relevant web content to be included in CI digital platforms, including the Global Trade Helpdesk, aimed at informing firm export and import decisions. The consultant will also review and draft relevant web content with a strong focus on optimizing the user journey. This can include information related to trade statistics, services information, investment data, e-commerce information, digital payments, among others.     SheTrades Initiative - Trade Expert on WTO Gender-Lens Framework

    The International Trade Centre (ITC) is recruiting a consultant to contribute in the creation of an ecosystem of integrated solutions that empower women economically through greater integration in trade and investment. The consultant will perform research on a selected topic for the application of the gender-lens framework developed by the project, draft one sector-specific policy brief based on the gender-lens framework developed by the project, as well as prepare presentation materials and present them in two workshops. The study should investigate the current situation in the region facing displaced persons or migrants, identify relevant project and donor opportunities, and draft a minimum of one project proposal on a selected country, outlining the background, needs assessment, project strategy, and proposed logical framework for a relevant project.     Consultant - Economist: SME Competitiveness Outlook and Surveys

    The International Trade Centre (ITC) is recruiting a consultant economist to contribute to SME Competitiveness Outlook (SMECO) and SME Competitiveness Survey (SMECS). The consultant will assist with design of surveys, the collection of SME competitiveness data and production of country competitiveness reports.     Consultancy: Buyer perceptions, market demand and channel/segmentation survey for the Tanzania Beekeeping Value Chain Support Project

    National Project Coordinator (Malaysia)

    The International Trade Centre (ITC) (www.intracen.org) is looking for a National Project Coordinator in Malaysia to support the implementation of the Arise Plus Malaysia project.
    The candidate should hold an advanced university degree in international trade, business administration, development studies or related field, with at least 5 years of experience in the field of technical assistance including some experience in project management, administration or related field. Knowledge of the UN system and procedures, experience of EU-related projects or trade-related projects in Malaysia would be an asset. Advanced English with excellent written and oral communication skills is essential. Advanced Malay with excellent written and oral communication skills is desirable.

    Media consultant on Information Education and Communication (IEC) material

    The International Trade Centre (ITC) is currently implementing a Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) funded project (2018 – 2022) to assist the Government of Tajikistan with the aim to improve export competitiveness of Tajik Small and Medium-sized Enterprises and food safety through better use of agri-chemicals and veterinary medicines. The project is based on results of a project preparation phase, also financed through STDF, which identified priority areas for support. The Terms of Reference can be found here.     Looking towards the expansion of ITC’s work in contexts of migration and displacement, the Refugee Employment and Skills Initiative (RESI) team is conducting an assessment of opportunities to support the creation of economic opportunities for displaced or migrant communities in Central America. The study should investigate the current situation in the region facing displaced persons or migrants, identify relevant project and donor opportunities, and draft a minimum of one project proposal on a selected country, outlining the background, needs assessment, project strategy, and proposed logical framework for a relevant project.     National Consultant on Coconut export strategy design – Federated States of Micronesia

    In 2020, the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and the International Trade Centre (ITC) initiated a collaboration to increase exports of FSM coconut products, through the design of a coconut export strategy. During the strategy design process, ITC will retain the services of a National Consultant who will: support data collection, related to the FSM coconut sector performance; coordinate with and build consensus among national sector stakeholders, including government officials and the private sector at both national and state levels; facilitate discussions at stakeholders’ meetings and consultations.
    A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional work experience in the government-related structure or the private sector is required.     Radio programme producer for a series on the promotion of coffee farming in Nepal

    The Nepal TIP project which is working on the improvement of coffee value chains in Nepal will in support of and promotion of project activities, produce a number of radio programmes to be disseminated with the help of local FM radio partners, in current and potential coffee growing areas. The programmes will focus from the farm to pulping centre level and will cover topics relevant to coffee production and processing at the pre- and post-harvest stage aiming at productivity improvements and quality enhancements including organic principles. It may also inspire new farmers to take up coffee farming by sharing relatable success stories of farmers who have been successful in the business. The project seeks a consultant to plan, create content, implement and evaluate the radio programming. The consultant will collaborate with the TIP National Coordinators, the TIP Communications Lead and Technical Advisors and importantly, the Nepal coffee industry stakeholders such as the Nepal Tea and Coffee Development Board and the Nepal Coffee Producers Association. The consultant should be based in Nepal and have experience in programming production or communications designer and should also have an agricultural background or experience in agriculture preferably coffee.
