International Trade Centre: 100% Aid for Trade
ITC is a 100% Aid for Trade institution with the knowledge and experience to encourage entrepreneurship and empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to integrate into regional and global value chains.
ITC focuses on small business export success because SMEs are key to sustained growth and prosperity. As the employer of 80% of jobs in low-income countries, SME performance has an undeniable impact on livelihoods. As such, SMEs are key drivers of global efforts to unlock growth and reduce poverty.
Our focus areas for SME competitiveness include:
- Developing trade and market intelligence;
- Building a conducive business environment;
- Strengthening trade and investment support institutions;
- Connecting to value chains;
- Supporting regional integration and South-South linkages; and
- Mainstreaming inclusive and green trade.
ITC focuses its work in least developed countries, landlocked developing countries, fragile and post-conflict countries, Small Island Developing States and sub-Saharan Africa. We help to build vibrant, sustainable export sectors that provide entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly for women, young people and poor communities.
ITC’s focus at this Aid for Trade review is on reducing the impact of non-tariff measures (NTMs) on SMEs.
